RECIPE: Sesame Sweet Potato Bites

If I had to choose a favourite food, it would 100% be sweet potato. I’ve spoken about my love of sweet potatoes before in my Top 10 Kitchen Staples Part 1, so I’ll try not to waffle on about it again.

This recipe was inspired by the Sesame Sweet Potato Fries we had when we visited Hamburg in December. We had them in a cosy café called Fränzi, we dipped then in a vegan aioli, and it was one of the best things to ever have happened. Perhaps I need to get out more, who knows.

Anyway, since them I’ve been trying to replicate it. My attempts at vegan aioli haven’t been the amazing (I put so much garlic in there that it pretty much burnt our mouths. But hey, that’s how we learn). I’ll keep trying, don’t you worry. Luckily, I’ve had much better luck with sweet potato. I decided to go for Sesame Sweet Potato Bites rather than fries, simply to keep things interesting.

If you’re not a whizz in the kitchen, you needn’t worry – this recipe is ridiculously simple. All you need is 3 ingredients, a baking tray and an oven. I know, I wasn’t joking when I said it was simple.

These Sesame Sweet Potato Bites are great on the side of pizza, dipped in ketchup, houmous or vegan aioli, or just on there own – whatever tickles your fancy.
