
This recipe for a healthy chocolate milkshake actually came about by accident when I put too much cacao in the blender (it happens to the best of us). But I have to say, this was a happy little accident, because I ended up creating a healthy, vegan version of one of my childhood favourite drinks.
This milkshake is full of good stuff including:
- Avocado – amazing source of heart-healthy fatty acids, potassium, fibre and more.
- Cacao – bucket loads of antioxidants
- Banana – one of my favourite fruits and a great source of energy
- Berries – high in nutrients and low in sugar
You could whizz this up in the blender and enjoy as breakfast, or snack or dessert. Here’s your recipe:
Ingredients
- 1 avocado
- 1 banana
- 1 small handful of mixed berries (I usually use 5-6)
- 1 tbsp cacao powder
- Almond milk
- Water
Instructions
- Add your avocado, banana, mixed berries and cacao powder to your blender.
- Fill up ⅔ with almond milk, then top up with water.
- Blend.
- Enjoy!
